For the spelt, wash the spelt grains. Heat the oil in a medium saucepan and roast the spelt grains for a few minutes, stirring continuously.

Add boiling water and salt, bring to a boil, cover the pot and reduce the temperature. Cook for about 60 minutes, until the spelt is tender.

Check from time to time to see if there is enough tap water left – if not, add a little boiling water.

In the end, the spelt should have absorbed all the water. If there is still liquid left, drain it in a sieve.
