Instructions:

For Polish barley soup, Krupnik, boil meat with mushrooms (chop if necessary) in 1.5 liters of salted water for about 40 minutes. Add pearl barley and cook for about 10 minutes more.

Peel and dice the carrot, parsley, celery, potatoes. Add to pot with meat and continue cooking until vegetables are tender. Remove meat from pot and chop into bite size pieces. Then return to the pot.

Cut onion into small cubes and sauté with butter in a small skillet until translucent. Then add the onions to the soup pot. Season with salt, pepper and marjoram.

Add parsley to the Polish barley soup just before serving.

Preparation Tip:

Polish soup goes well with fresh gray bread.
