Instructions:

Melt the cooking chocolate in a water bath. Beat egg yolks, butter, sugar until creamy, add vanilla, cinnamon, ground cloves and Cointreau, add cooking chocolate (not too hot), then sift flour and baking powder into the amount and fold in candied orange peel. Whip the egg whites until stiff and fold in some, then just fold in the rest. Put the cake in the oven at 200 °C (top and bottom heat) for 30 minutes.

For the glaze, mix the mulled wine with sifted powdered sugar to a thick consistency and pour it over the baked cake.

If you like, you can boil the mulled wine yourself. For this, 1 liter of red wine (preferably Chianti), juice of a lemon and orange, 1 cinnamon stick, 5 cloves, 2 centiliters of Cointreau and 30 grams of sugar on the lowest flame, without a lid 20 minutes lightly bubble, then rest for one night.
