For the mashed potato casserole, dice bacon, finely chop onion. Sauté both. Wash bell bell pepper and cut into small pieces. Spinach verlsen and wash.

Heat fat in a saucepan. Cook bell bell pepper, add a splash of water and continue to steam for about 5 min. Add spinach, cook in closed saucepan for 2 to 3 min until collapsed.

Prepare puree according to package instructions with salt and milk.

Drain the vegetables, season with salt and pepper and mix into the puree. Pour everything into a greased gratin dish.

Top with bacon and onions. Grate cheese and sprinkle on top. Bake the mashed potato casserole in a preheated oven (electric oven 225 °C / convection oven 200 °C / gas mark 4) for about 10 minutes.

Preparation Tip:

Serve with a crisp leafy salad with the mashed potato casserole!
