Put the bacon cubes in a cast-iron saucepan, cover with a layer of potatoes and a layer of onions. Salt. Continue alternating layers of potatoes and onions with a few flakes of butter. End with a layer of potatoes. Spread the remaining butter evenly on top. Salt.
Close the cooking pot and put it in the oven heated to 200 degrees for 1 hour. Just before serving, mix the bacon, potatoes and onions in the pot.
It is served with Schäufele or smoked pork neck, served with green salad.
